The "Omer Seyfettin and Gonenli Mehmet Efendi Memorial House" was opened by the Balikesir Metropolitan Municipality to keep alive the memory of Omer Seyfettin, who packed more than 150 stories into 36 years, and the Islamic scholar Gonenli Mehmet Efendi. Alongside an illustrated account of the life stories of these two distinguished figures, the memorial house features the study where Omer Seyfettin wrote his stories.
