This structure lies within the boundaries of Beybaş village, in the Lapseki district of Çanakkale province, adjoining the Beybaş village mosque. The present mosque is of reinforced concrete and bears the construction year 1985 above its entrance. An inscription hidden under the staircase reveals that an older mosque previously stood on the site. This inscription reads in Ottoman Turkish: "God, Most Glorious is His Majesty, this noble mosque was completed in the year 1319. Year 1319, Master ….." The mosque's construction year was thus given as AH 1319 (1901 AD), and although the master builder's name appears on the last line, it is illegible.
