This site lies at the Tayyare Çeşme locality within the boundaries of Sütlüce village, in the Gelibolu district of Çanakkale province. An airstrip was created by draining the Cumalıdere stream south of Sütlüce village (formerly called Galata), after Liman von Sanders, commander of the Fifth Army, sought to position the First Aircraft Company near his headquarters. Together with the First Air Company transferred here on 21 July 1915 and the four aircraft added to it, the site held four tent hangars that have not survived. A carpentry workshop with stone walls and a wooden roof was also built.
