It was built in 1904 as the Kala-i Sultaniye Greek Boys' School, and with the founding of the Republic it took the name Republic Primary School (Cumhuriyet İlk Mektebi) in 1923. With a Doric entrance and set on a high podium, the building was designed with 8 classrooms.
