Editor's Note
The building was erected in 1892 by the governor (Mutasarrıf) Zafer Paşa as a high school (İdadi) and secondary school (Rüştiye). During the occupation it was used for a time by the British as a headquarters and hospital. After 1923 it continued in use as a high school; after 1955 it served as a Teachers' School, and from 1970 to 1995 as a Commercial High School. In 1996, after undergoing repairs, it began to be used as a Teachers' Lodge.
