It was built in 1702 by Mehmet Habip Efendi, son of the Nakshibendi sheikh Seyyid Mehmet Efendi of Karabağ. Derviş Osman Efendi, İbrahim Hakkı of Erzurum, and İsmail Fehim Efendi all served as imams at this mosque.
