Editor's Note
It was built as a two-storey building by Şerif Bey, who served as Mayor of Erzurum between 1901 and 1910. It was used successively as the Fortified Position Command, the Quartermaster's and Accounting Office, and the courthouse. In 1996 a third floor was added and it came into use by the Yakutiye Municipality.
