It lies on the northern shore of Lake Ulubat near the village of Seyran in the Karacabey district, about 65 km west of Bursa. Since Roman times this was an important point on the road running from İzmir to İstanbul. The building is one of the caravanserais found in great numbers along the trade routes of Anatolia, especially from the Seljuk period. Issız Han's importance lies in its being an Early Ottoman structure that carries the architectural features of Seljuk caravanserais.
