Editor's Note
It covers the area on the shore of Şahmelek Cove, within the boundaries of Aksaz village, in the Biga district of Çanakkale province. Ancient authors refer to Şahmelek Cove as the ancient city of Linon. In front of the recreation-facility buildings on the western slope of the cove are Byzantine-period marble architectural pieces (a door lintel, parapet, architrave blocks, a column capital and base), along with granite columns and column fragments. On the shore, a tile-built grave (?) and coarse red-fabric roof tiles and amphora fragments have been encountered.
