The tomb is located in Çakırtaş, one of the villages of central Iğdır, 11 km from the city center. It was built during the Akkoyunlu Turkish era under the chieftain Emir (Kul) Yusuf, who had it erected for his son Muhammed, who died at a young age. From the inscription on the tomb we know that it was built by 'Bin Yusuf' in 890 AH (1485 CE). The tomb has two storeys; the ground floor was built on a square plan and is roofed with a vault. Arched windows are set in the east and west sides. Today this part lies almost entirely underground.
