Editor's Note
The Akkoyunlu İbrahim Gödekli Tomb is located in the Aralık district of Iğdır, in an area close to the Iranian border. It was commissioned in 1907 by Şerife Gülsüm in memory of her husband İbrahim Gödekli, a 14th-generation descendant of the Akkoyunlu ruler Gödek Ahmed. The tomb contains three graves, belonging to İbrahim Gödekli, Şerife Gülsüm, and Kurban Ağa. The Gödekli family belonged to the Bayındır tribe of the Üçoklar branch of the Oghuz Turks and dispersed to various regions after the fall of the Akkoyunlu state. İbrahim Gödekli was born in Revan in 1863, was known for his leadership qualities, and died in Iğdır in 1903.
