Editor's Note
The mosque has no foundation inscription. Above the door opening from inside the mosque entrance into the school (mektep) on its east side is written: "Whatever God Most High wills, comes to be. O Opener of doors, open for us the best of doors. What He does not will does not come to be." In the lower right of this text is written "Scribe Hasan and Ali bin Mustafa," and in the lower left "Date: year AH 1277 / AD 1860." From a wooden plaque set on the lintel behind the door of this school room, it is understood that the building was repaired in 1860 by men named Mahmud, Ahmed, and Hasan.
