The structure is located in Değirmenliköy, formerly named Zetkiğ, one of the villages established along the northern foothills of the Munzur Mountains in the central district of Erzincan Province. With no inscription or source giving information about its construction date, the building can be dated to the 19th century in terms of its plan and architectural features. The church was built single-naved over a rectangular area measuring about 9.80 x 16.90 m. The apse section collapsed in the 1939 earthquake.
