Editor's Note
The bridge, located within the boundaries of Akyurt village on the Tercan-Erzincan route and spanning the Karasu River, now consists of only a ruin running northeast to southwest. Existing traces suggest it was roughly 180 metres long; what survives are the quay-roads on its northeast and southwest wings, while the arches crossing the river and the pier footings have disappeared entirely. The rows of footings present today, in the form of vertical rectangular prismatic blocks, can readily be seen not to belong to the old bridge but to have been built in the 20th century.
