Editor's Note
The bridge over the Delice River is about 25 metres long and has four arches. The arches of the bridge are of cut stone and barrel-vaulted, while the piers are built of irregular stones. In the sources, the German archaeologist Hans Henning von der Osten, in his 1927 article titled "Oriental Institute Communications," mentions the remains of a Roman bridge found in this area. This strengthens the possibility that the Delice Bridge, which is understood to have been restored earlier, is the Roman bridge that von der Osten described.
