Editor's Note
The scout students (keşşaf) of Balıkesir High School who took part in the First World War fell as martyrs at the front. With all its students having gone to the front, Balıkesir High School produced no graduates in 1917 and 1918. In 2025, through the cooperation of the Balıkesir Metropolitan Municipality and the Balıkesir High School Alumni Association, the "Balıkesir High School Scouts Museum" was created and opened to visitors to tell new generations of the heroism of these scouts who went to the front.
