The mosque in the Yukarıçarşı quarter of Kalecik district has a brick body, a cut-stone minaret base, and a wooden cap. According to the Turkish inscription above the mosque's entrance, this Old Mosque in Yukarıçarşı was built in the 13th century by the İsfendiyaroğulları, burned down completely except for its minaret in 1962, and was rebuilt in 1964. The minaret retains its original form. Built of brick, it has a single balcony and is reached from inside the mosque. The present mosque is a plain building with a longitudinal rectangular plan, and nothing is known about its original form.
