Editor's Note
After Ezine was separated from the Biga Sanjak, it became a municipality and a district. The building, long used as a public building and town hall, was relocated here during the Republican era when a new building was erected opposite it, and was later used as a school out of necessity. For this reason it is also known among locals as the Stone School (Taş Mektep). Standing beside the Ezine Stream, the building was commissioned by Abdülhamid Han in 1896 and bears an inscription above its door.
