Editor's Note
It lies within the village of Mahmudiye in the Ezine district of Çanakkale province. Although its exact date of construction is unknown, it is known to have been built in the 18th century. The building bears no inscription, but dendrochronological measurements of its timbers date it to 1783. An engraving by Gouffier shows it alongside a mosque in the settlement behind it, though it is unclear whether the two were connected. It appears to have been abandoned after Hasan Pasha's death in 1790, and by the 19th century the neighbouring farm had fallen into ruin.
