Editor's Note
It was established on a hill with a shore on the Aegean Sea within the boundaries of Yenikoy, in a position commanding both the sea and the plain. It is a tumulus 15 m high and 20 m wide. The site and its surroundings are identified by researchers as the place where the Achaean army camped during the Trojan War. The tumulus burial is thought to belong to Patroclus, the hero killed in the war, and the few remains found around it are thought to belong to Agamemnon. Little information is available about the settlement. Musa Tombul, Canakkale Cultural Inventory-2015; General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums 36.
