Editor's Note
Kolonai was an ancient Greek city in the south-west of the Troad region of Anatolia. Its remains lie on a coastal hill called Beşiktepe, about 3.3 km east of the village of Alemşah in the Ezine district of Çanakkale, roughly equidistant between Larisa to the south and Alexandria Troas to the north. Its Greek name derives from kolōnē, meaning 'hill' or 'mound'.
