It was built in the mid-15th century by Karaca Bey, one of the distinguished statesmen of the era of Murad II and Mehmed the Conqueror. The Ortakoy Caravanserai, 5 km from Inegol, was built in the mid-15th century by Karacabey on land granted to him as a fief. It stands on the road connecting Bursa to Kutahya and Central Anatolia. Both stone and brick were used in its construction.
