Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Ogmen village in the Yenice district of Canakkale province. Between the Cayir Spring and the Ogmen Stream, to the northeast of Ogmen village, finds of mostly Lower and Middle Paleolithic bifaces, cleavers, discoids and numerous cores and flakes belonging to the Levallois and Acheulean traditions have been recorded. Choppers, chopping tools and hand axes predominate among the finds. The site holds an important place because the Lower Paleolithic period had not previously been encountered among the prehistoric studies carried out in the Canakkale region.
