Editor's Note
It is located within the boundaries of Bardakcilar village, Can district, Canakkale province. Three round-plan lime kilns, 6-7 m deep and 3-4 m in mouth width, have been identified in the area. It is thought that these kilns, built of local stone plastered with mortar with their walls, were used in the Roman and Byzantine periods to burn lime extracted from the local lime deposits here, turning it into quicklime, which was then slaked with water and turned into lime for use as mortar.
