The Alacali Bridge was commissioned by Beyazit's lord Mir Muhammed Pir Bela before the construction of Ishak Pasha Palace, which began in 1685, and was built by the same masters who would build the palace. Historians who argue that the bridge - whose exact construction date is unknown - was built in 1674 have determined that this single-arch historic bridge was built before the foundation of the palace's first section was laid, in order to bring the black stones used in the palace down from Mount Agri.
