It stands 500 m northeast of Yukari Gocmez village on a high hill surrounded by cliffs on three sides. The castle citadel has a nearly square plan measuring 50x55 m. The rampart walls, about 2 m thick, are built - as in other Early Iron Age castles in the region - of unworked stones, or stones with only their front faces dressed. In the necropolis covering a wide area on the southwest slope of the castle, 16 burial chambers have been identified. There is damage due to illegal excavation.
