Editor's Note
It was the chapel of Ayvalık's fishermen. Every year on the 30th of June, a day-long feast was held here as part of the festival dedicated to the Twelve Apostles. The chapel's semicircular-arched entrance and windows had lintels and jambs of Sarımsak stone. A total of six wooden columns arranged in two rows divided the interior into three and supported the lath-and-plaster ceiling beneath a barrel roof covered with pantiles.
