The building, roofed with a barrel vault, has semicircular arched windows with sandstone lintels and jambs, while its entrance is framed with blocks of Sarimsak stone. In modern times it was adapted as a hearth, with a chimney added above, and its apse is semicircular on the exterior. The building's architecture, and especially the circular windows above the apse, recall the apses of the basilica-plan churches built in Ayvalik in the mid-19th century. It is therefore likely that the chapel was also built in this period.
