Editor's Note
Remains belonging to a monastery complex were identified on Timarhane Hill. Among these are a chapel set against the bedrock on the eastern and southern slopes of the rocky summit at the hill's highest point, the foundation remains of the ranges of rooms that served the monastery to which it belonged, two large barrel-vaulted cisterns, and the monastery's enclosure walls. Also among the findings are the house known to have belonged to the family of the monastery's founder, Fotis Kontoglu, and the foundations of a wooden mansion dated to the 19th century.
