Editor's Note
It was built in 1919 on the remains of a church. Although the building's plan layout has been altered, it has continued in its original function ever since it was built. The stone building opposite it, now used as the Edremit Municipality Yilmaz Akpinar Cultural Centre, once belonged to the priest of the church that formerly stood on the site of the Government House, and the two buildings are connected by a tunnel.
