Allianoi is an ancient spa settlement, with remains dating predominantly from the Roman Empire period, located northeast of Bergama in İzmir Province, at the 18th kilometer of the Bergama-İvrindi road in the Paşa Ilıcası locality. Because it lay directly within the reservoir of the Yortanlı Dam, after lengthy debate over preserving its ruins the site was covered with sand and the dam activated, resulting in Allianoi's complete inundation in February 2011.
