According to its construction inscription, the mosque was built by a man named Hacı Abdullah bin Hüseyin in 1614-15. Above the gate opening onto the courtyard from the west are inscriptions: the construction inscription on the left, and repair inscriptions in the center and on the right. Above the door giving entry to the prayer hall is a three-line repair inscription dated H.1301/1302 / 1883-84-85 CE, and on the western courtyard gate are repair inscriptions dated H.1310 / 1892-93 CE and H.1313 / 1895-96 CE, commissioned by Salim Ağa. The mosque is one of the square-plan, single-dome mosque examples. Inside, the dome rests on eight triangular piers and the transition to the dome is achieved by means of squinches.
