Editor's Note
This building, of the side-spaced zaviye type built in the late 14th and early 15th centuries, was converted into a Halveti lodge in the first quarter of the 17th century. It is also known as the Muslihuddin Lodge after the first Halveti sheikh, who died in AH 1072 (1661-62) and was buried here. The gravestone of Sheikh Muslihuddin, a member of the Yiğitbaşı branch of the Halveti order, stands in the eastern burial ground, in front of the lodge's side window that opens onto it. From the two-line tile inscription above the doorway, part of which has now been lost, it is understood that the lodge was restored in AH 1164 (1751) by the Governor of Kütahya, Yahya Pasha.
