It lies within the boundaries of the Kayabaşı neighbourhood in the central district of Kırşehir Province. Construction began in the 1920s under the leadership of Ahmet Müfit Kurutoğlu, then mufti and first-term Kırşehir deputy in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, but for various reasons it was never completed and has come down to the present in this state, which is why it is known as the Natamam (Unfinished) Mosque.
