Editor's Note
The Gesi Bath was built in the first half of the 19th century. Designed as a single bath, the structure is a small provincial bathhouse without an iwan or private bathing chamber. Arranged from west to east, its sections comprise the entrance space, the changing room, the hot room, the toilet and shaving area to the southwest of the hot room, and the water tank and furnace room to the northeast. Although the entrance space was designed with a flat earthen roof over wooden beams, this part has largely collapsed. The changing room is covered by a dome, with the transition to the dome achieved by squinches on the eastern façade and pendentives on the western façade.
