The south wall of the Surp Haç (Holy Cross) Church, built in the village in 1842, was carved entirely from the rock, while its northern section was built up with masonry. After 1915 the church was used for a long time as a stable and hay barn and was damaged by treasure hunters. Only a very small part of the decoration and Armenian inscriptions inside the building survives today.
