The Palace of Warshama is an ancient ruler's residence uncovered at the archaeological settlement of Kanesh-Kültepe. Thanks to dendrochronological analysis of wooden remains, the palace's construction is dated as far back as the 19th century BC. It is understood that the five kings of Kanesh named in the sources ruled from this magnificent building, located in the 7th level of the citadel. Among the debris of the palace, destroyed by a great fire, a tablet was found containing a letter sent to Kanesh by Anum-hirbi, king of Mama, a realm placed in the region around Maraş.
