Editor's Note
The Güneşli Lower Mosque was built in AH 1150 / AD 1737-38. Designed on a rectangular plan running north to south, the building is entered through a doorway shifted to the north of the east facade. This entrance is notable for its segmental-arched lintel made of a single block of stone. The roof was formed of flagstones laid over nine pointed arches set on the outer walls in an east-west direction. The east and west facades were left blind. The single window in the upper part of the north wall is probably not original.
