This mansion, believed to have been attached to the Church of the Virgin Mary in Yukarı Talas, is thought to have served in the past as the priest's residence. It was later put up for sale by the National Real Estate authority; however, for various reasons not everyone was allowed to take part in the auction, as the state excluded certain individuals. Müderrisoğlu Ahmet Efendi (Soyata) won the auction and purchased a large area that included the mansion and the surrounding buildings. Müderrisoğlu Ahmet Efendi and his family lived for many years in this building, known as the priest's mansion.
