Editor's Note
Bardakçı, which Kurt Erdmann visited on 1 June 1955, was a stop on the Seyitgazi-Bolvadin road. Besides containing a great deal of Byzantine and Ottoman spolia, the place holds a primitive flat-roofed han from the 18th or 19th century. The town's most important building is the mosque, 15 meters wide and 13 meters deep, whose flat ceiling is supported by new wooden posts. In contrast to the ambitious structure of this interior, the north and east walls facing the street are built of carefully cut stone blocks (Fig. 350).
