Editor's Note
Kocabaş, or Topbaş, fortress stretches along a mountain slope. Its stony, wooded, and rough structure gives the impression that it was not a very strong fortress for defense. However, the slope on the east side of the fortress, which steepens and reaches a height of 64 m, gives the fortress an imposing appearance when viewed from this angle. Kocabaş Kale was used in the Phrygian period. "Two- and Three-Dimensional Modeling of the Spatial Relationships of the Fortresses in the Yazılıkaya-Midas Valley" - Yusuf Polat
