Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Gümüşkonak village in the Günyüzü district of Eskişehir province. It is a domed basilica with five naves. It was first built in the first half of the 5th century. The second building phase is dated to the 6th century on the basis of column capitals bearing the monograms of Emperor Justinian I and his wife Theodora found at the site. In the final phase, the dome was added in the Middle Byzantine period, after the 10th century, when Germia was elevated to a bishopric.
