Editor's Note
The construction date and patron of this bridge over the Tuzla stream, which passes near Behramkale, are unknown. Stylistically, however, it is thought to belong to the classical period of Turkish art in the Ottoman era (15th-17th centuries). Drawing on its resemblance to the Asılhan Bey Bridge of 784 (1382) in Ezine, Cevdet Çulpan suggests it may have been built around the same time. The Behramkale Bridge is a fine example of a relatively small, three-arched bridge with pointed arches. The central arch spans about 15 m, while those on either side span around 7 m.
