Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of Hamidiye neighborhood in the Bigadic district of Balikesir province. Numerous pottery sherds dating from the Early Bronze Age (3000-2500 BC) to the Byzantine period (10th century AD) have been found on the site. The area has suffered extensive illegal digging and was damaged by villagers who cut a road with an excavator to turn the area into a picnic and recreation ground, as well as during afforestation works. It was registered as a First-Degree Archaeological Site by decision no. 2785 of 25 May 2021 of the Balikesir Regional Council for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
