Editor's Note
In his master's thesis titled REBELLION MOVEMENTS IN ANATOLIA DURING THE HELLENISTIC AGE, Emre Gokmen cites that in 197 BC, after Attalos I destroyed the city of Gergitha (Adatepe/Asartepe?) in the Troad region, he resettled its inhabitants in the vicinity of the Kaikos (the Bakircay River). It is highly likely that this city, together with Sandaina just to its northeast, was one of two towns or garrisons founded at the entrance to the Bakircay plain.
