Editor's Note
Attea was a coastal town of ancient Mysia (or Aeolis). According to Strabo's enumeration it lay between Heracleia and Atarneus. It has been conjectured to be the same place named Attalia in the Peutinger Table, though the ancient authorities are confused on this point and several proposed identifications remain unsatisfactory.
