The De Jongh Mansion is thought to have been built in the 1800s. The De Jongh family, believed to have left Buca in the early 20th century, sold the mansion at that time to an Italian businessman. The garden of the villa is known to have been used for a while as a tennis club, and the building was later converted into a sanatorium with various additions. Having undergone restoration at various times, the De Jongh Mansion is today owned by the SSK (Social Insurance Institution).
