Editor's Note
An ancient bridge over the Meles river in İzmir, also known as the Kemer Bridge. Built around 850 BC, it is regarded as one of the oldest man-made structures still in continuous use. In antiquity the Meles was said to be the birthplace of Homer, and both the river and the bridge appear in Homer's work.
