The western stoa of Smyrna is the part of the ancient agora beneath İzmir surviving from the Roman period, from the 2nd century. This colonnaded gallery shaded the market and gathering space, making room for daily trade. Continuing just below the city centre, the remains reveal the ancient core of living İzmir.
