Editor's Note
A Catholic church in the old Frankish neighborhood of the Pasaport area in İzmir's Konak district. Built in honor of the Virgin Mary, it opened in 1698. Constructed by the Franciscans who had settled in İzmir, it serves today as an Italian Catholic church with Franciscan priests ministering to a community of about 200 people.
